i don't know about your friends, but my friends are awesome. we laugh and joke together, act like idiots together, but most importantly we support each other. we hang out on the beach every chance we get and love a good sun bath. to be truthfully honest, it's very hard to keep up with my friends. we all live in different cities, so phone calls and social media keep us going.
we all went to college together. it's more than true what they say about college friends: 'you don't go to college to find your husband, you go to find your bridesmaids.' and that couldn't be truer (except for the fact that i did happen to find my husband at college too..lol).
let me introduce you to the dream team i'm honored to call my besties: there's janae, michele, forrest, simone, javon, dezzie and danai.
janae is one of the fliest women i know. she's an extremely confident chick that is just crazy enough to believe that she can achieve all her wildest dreams and aspirations. she's working on a clothing line, models from time to time, sings, is an actress and plays the sax, just to name a few things. i've always been inspired by her to believe that the sky is the limit, because with her, its the truth.
michele is a hoot. everything is a musical and still loves to 'play.' lol... she's a worship leader at our church, lover of all things music, dance and show choir and is the mother of two beautiful little ones. she'll also 'punch you in the face' with truth, but with a finesse that screams i love you.
forrest is a breath of fresh air, has the biggest heart and will pray for you at the drop of a hat. she's also a walking pinterest board. she's super creative and can use just about anything to make beautiful art. she's working on starting her very own non-profit bakery as we speak!
simone is a down to earth chick. she's so cool and trendy (i live out my dreadlock dreams through her) although she's super laid back, she's hilarious, passionate about everything she does and truly values all of her friendships. she's a lover of people, quality time and making sure she keeps her friends grounded and encouraged. she'll always know how to flatter you, and its always from the heart.
javon is like no other. she sings, she dances and she knows how to just plain have fun. in addition to abbreviating words and assigning everyone with a nickname, she cares so deeply about her friends lives and makes so many awesome efforts to encourage them.
dezzie is a beautiful hearted nut. she always knows how to make people laugh and has a testimony that will rock your world. she's the single mother to a beautiful little girl and has raised her with such grace and strength. if you want someone to laugh at stupid stuff, she's your girl.
danai is the real deal. you wanna know the truth about something, she'll let you know. oddly enough, danai and i haven't been friends very long, but we're becoming beautiful close through a mutual friend. i'm excited get to know her better and have had nothing but good times, laughs and love in the time we have spent together. i can't wait for more opportunities to build with her!
oddly enough, i think my favorite memory with my friends goes back my bachelorette weekend and didn't even happen at the beach. they talked me into completing a bridal scavenger hunt that was entertaining to say the least. from flash mobbing in the mall to serenading a total stranger, we had a blast and it's a memory i'll have forever! i love you guys!
